FAQs

1. How can I join the Last Week Publishing community?

Start writing! We have weekly contests that end up in our anthologies. Find your voice and style. Submit when you feel ready. In the meantime, follow us on social media, join our Reddit community, subscribe to our website for access to all of our online work, and keep up your work, and you could be published too.

2. How do your contests work?

When a work is submitted to our free contests, we read through the submissions in each category for the best work. We do not hold you to any style or voice, but we like to say two things about what we’re looking for. The first is to embrace your voice and be bold with your style. The second is that a story for everyone can be a story for no one. Send us distinct stories; we aren’t looking for something generic, but a unique work that stands out. We do not accept resubmissions unless invited to do so; if we have turned down a story, we will not later accept it.

3. How can I read your work?

When a story or poem is published through our contests, it stays on our blog and social media for a week and then enters our subscription and long-term publishing plan. We know that subscribing is difficult and a lot to ask so we also have the option to easily purchase just one month to try it our at a discounted rate. Our works are also published every year as part of an anthology series. Also, check out our novels, available on our website or through our Amazon storefront.

4. Do your contests pay?

Our contests do pay. Unfortunately, due to the nature of our business at the moment we cannot pay until the publication of our anthologies, at which time selected authors will recieve $20 per written work.

5. How can I contact you?

Reach out to our editor at Communications@LastWeekPublishing.com, and he will get back to you as soon as possible.

6. Can I submit multiple works at once?

Contestants are limited to one submission per category per week. Please respect this limit; it is in place so that we can continue to run these contests and let authors have their chance to shine. Feel free to submit in every category that you have written for.
